UNILINK SPORTS Student-Athletes 2019 – Larry Cornish (Soccer)

Larry Cornish, a former graduate from Salisbury University in Maryland, will be starting grad-school at Swansea University this September.

Playing in defence, Larry will be looking to help SWANSEA UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL CLUB in their quest for BUCS glory this season. (BUCS is the NCAA equivalent in the United Kingdom)

During his time in the south of Wales, Larry will be studying a MA Communication, Media Practice & P.R.

Master’s degrees in the United Kingdom take only one year to complete, and the total costs work out far cheaper than studying in America. Athletic and academic SCHOLARSHIPS are also available.

Arion Sobers will be swapping Miami FL for South Wales, to play & study at SWANSEA UNIVERSITY.

Arion (Florida Gulf Coast University/Virginia Tech) is to begin studying a LLM in Legal Tech this Fall.

SWANSEA UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL CLUB are one of the the U.K’s best soccer programs and this season will compete in the BUCS Premier South Division and JD Cymru South League.

We wish Arion and Swansea University F.C. all the best in the upcoming season.

UNILINK SPORTS STUDENT-ATHLETES 2019 – Alex Gallagher (Soccer)

Alex Gallagher – an All-American from Misercordia University PA, will be taking her talents to the Soccer Management Institute in Rome, Italy.

Starting in September 2019, Alex will be studying a Sport’s Management & Soccer Coaching Master’s degree whilst playing for the SMI Academy.

The SMI Academy offers a professional playing experience to it’s players through full-time training and weekly matches vs. clubs all over Italy. The exposure given by the SMI Academy has seen many of it’s players go on to sign professional contracts or find and semi-professional opportunities with Italian soccer clubs.

UNILINK SPORTS is a recruiting partner of the Soccer Management Institute, which is fully recognized by CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) and AIAC (Italian Football Coaches Association).

Located in the beautiful and historical city of Rome. Student-athletes at SMI are given Italian language lessons and fully encouraged to immerse themselves into the local culture.

UNILINK SPORTS Student-Athletes 2019 – RACHEL BROWN (Soccer)

Rachel Brown (American International College, MA), will be coming to England in September to play & study at the University of Hertfordshire.

Rachel played 72 times over four season for AIC and is hoping to play an similarly important role for the UHERTS Women’s soccer team. UHERTS compete in BUCS competition (the United Kingdom’s equivalent of the NCAA) and the campus is located just north of London.

Everyone at UNILINK SPORTS wants to wish Rachel all the best as she begins her British adventure.

UNILINK SPORTS Student-Athletes 2019 – Nicalus Franklyn (RUGBY)

Nicalus Franklin a recent graduate from American International College MA, will be bringing his rugby talents to Wales for Swansea University this Fall.
Nicalus is a talented scrum-half and originally from Staten Island NY. He was recently named to FloRugby’s “Dream Team” at the USA Rugby College 7s Nationals in May and helped AIC to a runner’s up position.

Swansea University is home to one of the top rugby programs in the United
Kingdom. This season Swansea were promoted into the top level of college rugby, and will now compete in BUCS Super Rugby for the 2019/2020 season.

Nicalus will be studying a Master’s degree in Public Health MSc, and everyone at UNILINK SPORTS wish him all the best.

UNILINK SPORTS Student-Athletes 2019 – Payton DeHart (Soccer)

PAYTON DEHART a graduate from Tusculum University, will be studying a Master’s degree and playing soccer at the University of Hertfordshire this September.

Payton, a forward who played 74 times for the Tusculum Pioneers, chose to play for UHERTS Women’s football team as it allows her to also study a Master’s in Molecular Biology MSc.
UHERTS compete in BUCS Premier South division and regularly compete in national play-offs.

We wish Payton and UHERTS Women’s team all the best for the 2019/2020 season.

University Motorsports in the United Kingdom

Formula Student is a world-wide competition that challenges universities to demonstrate their design, engineering and manufacturing skills in building a single seater formula-style racing car.

Celebrating it’s 20th anniversary in 2018, the climax to the annual competition is held at Silverstone Racetrack where cars are tested and raced.

Our partner universities at Hertfordshire, Huddersfield and Swansea all enter cars each year. The teams are made up of engineering students who are studying a range of different masters degrees, such as;

BUCS Surf Championships 2017

The 2017 British Universities & Colleges Sport Championships takes place this weekend at Fistral Beach in Newquay.

The BUCS Surf Championships see men and women from all over the United Kingdom compete in individual and team events.

Surfing is one of 47 sports offered that student-athletes in the United Kingdom can compete in and earn BUCS points in. At the end of the of the academic year, the university with the most BUCS points is crowned overall BUCS Champion. An updated points table can be found here: BUCS.POINTS

2017 UNILINK Sports Student-Athletes: Jessica Fassnidge

Jessica Fassnidge, a soccer player who graduated from Flagler College in Florida, will become our first student-athlete to attend UCAM Murcia in Spain.

Born in England, Jessica first began her college soccer career at Eastern Florida State College and helped the team reach the NJCAA national championship final. Jessica then transferred to Flagler College and lead the team in total minutes played over the two seasons as a dominating defender.

UCAM Murcia, is located in the south east of Spain and only 25 minutes from the stunning Mediterranean beaches. It is home to excellent sporting facilities; including professional men’s basketball and soccer teams, 21 university level sports clubs and 80 current Olympians. In Spain UCAM Murcia is known as the “University of Sports”.

Jessica will be studying a Masters in High Performance Sports: Strength & Conditioning, as well as playing a good level of women’s soccer.
